New Delhi: In a grave outcome of domestic violence, a senior doctor of Deen Dayal Upadhyaya (DDU) strangled his wife to death and later dumped her body in Allahabad.

As the body was found on September 25, the local Hari Nagar Police has arrested 31 years old accused Dr Chandra Vibhas Sahu.

Talking about the murder, Additional Commissioner of Police V Ranganathan said that Vibhas got married to Jharkhand based Supriya Tussar, 27, in November 2010.

As their married life was passing through a turbulent phase, Supriya came back to her parents in July 2011 but went back to Vibhas after her family and relatives settled the issues.

It was on September 23 when Supriya called her mother on phone and wept bitterly fearing for her life. After that her family lost any contact with her. When they asked Vibhas about it, he said that Supriya had left for Mathura.

Amidst the suspicious circumstances, the family members of Supriya reached directly to Vibha's residence where they learnt to their shock that Supriya has been murdered.

Later on, arrested Vibhas himself exposed the whole incident. He told the Additional Police Commissioner that he had a bitter fight with Supriya on the night of September 23.

When Supriya warned of hanging herself, Vibhas lost temper and strangled her and packed the body in an airbag.

Vibhas narrated that he took the body in his car to dump it in the Ganga on September 24. He managed to dump the body from a flyover near Allahabad.

Meanwhile, police has sent Vibhas to a five-day remand for inquiry.
