Around 90,000 people were also affected in the rains and floods which started two weeks ago, National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA) said on Friday. More than 5,000 houses were fully or partially damaged while crops over 1,45,000 acres were also destroyed.

The rains have also done an extensive damage to roads. The meteorological department has warned of more rains in coming days.

Pakistan has suffered monsoon floods for the last three years. In the worst floods triggered by the torrential rain in 2010, more than 1700 people were killed and over 20 million were affected.
