Shimla: Supporting Baba Ramdev in his fight against corruption and black money, International President of Vishwa Hindu Parishad (VHP) Ashok Singhal on Saturday demanded the government to declare black money a national asset.

Speaking to the reporters in Shimla, Singhal alleged that the midnight police crackdown on Ramdev and his followers at Ramleela ground was done at the behest of Sonia Gandhi.

“UPA Chairperson Sonia Gandhi is behind the midnight police action on the followers of Baba Ramdev at Delhi's Ramlila ground on June 4,” he said.

“VHP, Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS), Bajrang Dal and all other Hindu groups support Ramdev’s Satyagrah. The act done by central government is serious and VHP would no longer be a silent spectator. A movement will be raised in country. Very soon saint community and other groups would frame their strategy for this.”

Expressing concern over Baba Ramdev’s deteriorating health, he said that his life is precious and VHP wishes him to end his fast.
The Hindu leader warned the UPA government to be ready to pay the price for its act of strangling democracy at Ramleela Ground.
“Country is headed in a wrong direction. One sacm after the other has been unearthed. Stringent laws are required to check them,” Singhal demanded.
