Bhopal: Rich tributes were paid to Bharatiya Jana Sangh leader Deendayal Upadhyaya on his 96th birth anniversary on Tuesday.

Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan paid floral tributes at the statue of Upadhyaya at Lalghati Chowk here.

Speaking on the occasion, Chouhan said his Government is committed to ensure progress of every section of the society and reach out to poorest of the poor.

Service of the poor and others in the society will be the real tribute to Upadhyaya, he said.

Besides Chouhan, State BJP President Prabhat Jha, Home Minister Uma Shankar Gupta and Medical Education Minister Anoop Mishra, among others, were present on the occasion.
