Namakkal (TN): A local court on Monday adjourned till February five the hearing in a defamation case filed against DMDK chief and Leader of the Opposition in Tamil Nadu Assembly Vijaykanth by the state government.
Namakkal district Public Prosecutor K Dhanasekaran had last month submitted that Vijaykanth during a public meeting here on August 17 had made some alleged derogatory remarks against Chief Minister Jayalalithaa, damaging her reputation.
Vijayakanth appeared before the court on Sunday following a directive by the court last month.
When the case came up on Sunday, Principal District and Sessions Judge C Velu adjourned the case to February five.
