New Delhi: AISF Delhi state council on Monday staged protest outside Bihar Bhawan over alleged assaulting and manhandling of its activist Anshu Kumari (general secretary, Patna University Students Union) by ABVP member Ashish Sinha at Patna.

AISF leaders said that Patna University Students Union, president Ashish Sinha along with his supporters allegedly assaulted Anshu Kumari outside the Patna University office. The incident occurred when AISF activists were on indefinite hunger strike against a number of problems including proper implementation of reservations, gender and social justice and allotment of hostels being faced by students.

AISF Delhi state secretary Amit Kumar termed the incident as a shameful day for democratic student movement and women empowerment across the country. Amit Kumar condemned such kind of undemocratic act of the elected student union office bearer of ABVP as well as the indifference of the university authorities towards the genuine cause of the students.

AISF Delhi state secretary also demanded that the Vice-Chancellor be sacked immediately and stringent disciplinary action be taken against ABVP activists without dillydallying so that in future no one can dare to resort to such undemocratic, barbaric and uncivilised act. A five-member delegation of Delhi AISF met Bihar Bhawan, Residence Commissioner who assured that their demands will be conveyed to the authorities concerned.

AISF’s demands are as follows:

 *Sacking the Vice Chancellor of Patna University immediately
 *Quashing  the fake cases against AISF activists
 *Ensuring democratic atmosphere in University Campus
 *Taking stringent action against the ABVP
