"We want Kiran Bedi to join AAP. The doors of AAP are always open for her. If Bedi joins AAP, the party will nominate her as chief ministerial candidate. If an honest person like Bedi becomes the Chief Minister, it will be very good for Delhi and for the nation as well," Kejriwal said.

Several AAP activists also expressed confidence that Bedi would consider the offer and contest Delhi Assembly polls.

“Arvind Kejriwal has shown a great gesture by inviting her (Kiran Bedi) as AAP’s CM candidate in Delhi Assembly polls,” Kumar Vishvas said in a tweet.

When Bedi was contacted over the proposal, she refused to make any comment.

On August 10, Kejriwal had invited IAS officer Ashok Khemka to join AAP. “I invite Ashok Khemka to join AAP and fight elections against Haryana Chief Minister Bhupinder Singh Hooda,” Kejriwal had said in a tweet.

Earlier, sources in BJP have confirmed that Bedi would be contesting against Kejriwal in upcoming Assembly elections in Delhi. However, she had denied the reports saying that she is not interested in electoral politics.
