New Delhi: With Rajnath Singh taking over as BJP national president, party’s Delhi state unit is also expecting major reshuffle in the organisation.

In the wake of state assembly elections due this year, Delhi BJP is gearing for organisational overhaul. Several new faces are likely to find their places in the Delhi BJP team.

In fact, the election results of national capital will have a significant impact on next year's Lok Sabha polls. If BJP wins Delhi assembly polls, it will certainly boost party's morale as the saffron party has been out of power in national capital since 1998.

The question arises that if the BJP can win Delhi assembly polls against the powerful Chief Minister Sheila Dikshit who is eyeing on her four consecutive victories.

In the last assembly elections, BJP had projected Vijay Kumar Malhotra as Chief Ministerial candidate but the voters in the national capital rejected him. The BJP had won only 23 seats against the Congress’ 42.

According to the sources, BJP national general secretary and former Union Minister Vijay Goel, former state president and MLA Harsh Vardhan, former mayor Arti Mehra and senior leader Jagdish Mukhi are the main contenders for the post of state president.
