New Delhi: Delhi Chief Minister Sheila Dikshit held a high-level meeting at her residence on Sunday to review the state of electricity and power supply in the national capital.

The power companies on a clear basis were told about the requirements of the power in the state and were also warned to fix all the problems in the capital to ensure satisfied and adequate supply of electricity.

In the meeting, the Delhi Jal Board (DJB) informed the Chief Minister that all the arrangements have been made for the adequate water distribution. Adequate number of tankers have been deployed for the supply of drinking water, the officials informed the CM.

In the meeting, Power Minister Haroon Yusuf, Jal Board’s vice-president Chaudhry Mateen Ahmed, chief secretary Praveen Kumar Tripathi, Chief Minister's principal secretary MM Kutty, Jal Board CEO Ramesh Negi and senior officials and CEO of the electricity distribution companies were present.

Sheila Dikshit had informed the Discoms that Delhi has adequate quantity of electricity and there should be no shortage of power.

Discoms were instructed that there should be a backup plan which can provide assistance to the DJB whenever needed. They were informed that since the non-scheduled power cuts and load shedding is not due to lack of power but due to technical fault, the companies should make their complaint centers more efficient and responsive.

The DJB was instructed to keep pace with the Discoms and ensure adequate supply of water.
