New Delhi: A team of Delhi Police has detained Akshay Thakur, another accused in Delhi gang rape case, in Bihar's Aurangabad district on Wednesday.

The accused was on the run and was hiding at his native place after committing the crime along with five others. Akshay is being brought to Delhi, police said. Police has already arrested four persons in connection with the Sunday incident.

The 23-year-old para-medic was raped and brutally assaulted by a group of men in a running bus. The victim’s male companion was also assaulted by perpetrators. The victim, who was in Delhi for her internship, is battling for life at the Safdarjung Hospital. The male friend was also taken to the hospital but discharged after treatment of his injuries on Monday.
