According to police, Mukesh has agreed to undergo identification test by victim's male friend. He will undergo identification test on Thursday at Tihar jail.

However, Pawan has refused to undergo identification test saying he committed a "heinous act."

Pawan and Vinay have been sent to four-day police custody while Mukesh sent to Tihar jail for 14 days in judicial custody.

Earlier, the Delhi High Court took cognisance of the incident saying people are losing faith in the police and judiciary. The court had asked the Delhi Police Commissioner Neeraj Kumar to file status report within two days. It had also asked the Delhi Government to provide best medical facilities to the victim and her male friend.

The 23-year-old para-medic was raped and brutally assaulted by a group of men in a running bus. The victim’s male companion was also assaulted by perpetrators. The victim, who was in Delhi for her internship, is battling for life at the Safdarjung Hospital. The male friend was also taken to the hospital but discharged after treatment of his injuries on Monday.
