New Delhi: After facing acerbic attacks from the Opposition and protest from the RWA wing of People's Action - United Residents Joint Action (URJA)on hike of the power tariff, the Delhi government has decided to get accounts of discoms (private power supply companies) audited by the Comptroller and Auditor General of India(CAG).

Taking a dig at the government, Sanjay Kaul, URJA chairman and People's Action president said, “The decision taken by the ruling dispensation palpably indicates that financial bungling have been committed by the power supply companies.”

“The government should roll back the hike in the electricity price till CAG comes up with its report,” he said.

It is noteworthy that the Delhi High Court had also issued notices to the discoms asking them to file their reply on a petition seeking audit of their accounts by the CAG.
