New Delhi: The Sheila Dikshit government, which had returned to power in 2008 on the plank of regularization of unauthorized colonies, is drawing stern criticism over the issue.

After a revelation that the three unauthorized colonies have been built only on papers, the Delhi government has directed a probe into the matter.

It is worth mentioning that former MLA Ramvir Singh Bidhuri in a letter to the Lieutenant Governor Tejendra Khanna informed that the government in 2008 had distributed regularization certificates to the 1239 colonies, out of which three have no existence. They are Kotala Mahigrm Extension Jasola, Abul Fazal Enclave, Part-2, Jasola village and Radhakrishna Vihar.

Admitting the wrongdoings, Urban Development Minister Raj Kumar Chauhan said, “The investigation will be conducted. The CM has already ordered a probe into the matter.”

On being asked about giving provisional certificates to the colonies, Chauhan added the matter would be investigated.

Urban Development Minister said the list of colonies was made on the basis of report prepared by the employees concerned. The truth will reveal after the investigation, he added.

A complaint in this regard has also been registered with the Delhi Lokayukta Justice Manmohan Sarin.
