New Delhi: In order to strengthen education system in the national capital, the Delhi government is all set to handle the education from nursery to Class XII.

Municipal Corporation of Delhi (MCD) has been managing the primary education and Delhi government is looking after the senior secondary schools. But now the education from nursery to Class XII will come under the Delhi government.

The Government is of the opinion that students are facing problems as the school education is split into two parts. After the trifurcation of MCD, the Delhi government is going to implement a new Act, in which primary education will not be placed.

Delhi Education Minister Amrinder Singh Lovely said, the problem are arising as the primary and secondary education are put under two separate bodies.

As of now, Mayor and Chairman of education committee manage the whole education system in Delhi. But in the changed scenario, the Delhi government will be responsible for the whole education system. A proposal is being chalked out in this regard.

Notably, since the constitution of MCD in 1958 in the national capital, it has been looking after the education, power, water supply and transport system in the city.
