New Delhi: As the national capital may plunge into electricity crisis owing to irresponsible behavior of private power supply companies, the Delhi Government has sent a letter to NTPC stating that all outstanding dues would be cleared if BSES fails to pay it within a month.

NTPC has decided to stop power supply from December 7 mid night.

According to sources, a comfort letter was faxed to NTPC on Wednesday night, which in turn sent information to National Load Dispatch centre mentioning not to stop power supply.
The BSES has to pay dues of Rs 3000 crore to NTPC, and other power generating companies. The BSES has decided to take a loan of Rs 5000 crore from IDBI bank, for which they need to pay Rs 1000-crore bank guaranty.

As the Delhi government has 49 percent shares in BSES Yamuna and BSES Rajdhani, the companies also want government to pay Rs 500 crore.
