A bench comprising Chief Justice G Rohini and Justice Jayant Nath asked the Delhi Commissioner of Police to file the status reports of the cases along with postmortem reports.

"These incidents can't be allowed to be repeated. You file the status reports along with the post mortem reports", the bench said.

The court's direction came after Department of Education and Delhi government filed their replies in compliance with its direction.

The Delhi government and department of Education in their status report highlighted the steps taken to ensure the safety of children in schools. A report was also filed by the South Delhi Municipal Corporation (SDMC) regarding the death of the children.

Petitioner Col (Retd) Devinder Sehrawat, MLA from Bijwasan constituency said the court should monitor the investigation into the death of the children.

"We are doing the same thing. Let them file the reply we will look into it", the bench said.

On February 2, the Delhi High Court had termed the incidents as 'unfortunate' and sought responses of AAP government, SDMC and the school authorities.

The PIL filed through advocate Kamlesh Kumar Mishra, also sought judicial probe into these deaths and called for disaster management assessment of all schools in Delhi.
