New Delhi: The political rivalry between Chief Minister Sheila Dikshit and Delhi Pradesh Congress Committee president Jai Prakash Agarwal came to the fore as all the ministers and some MPs are likely to meet party chief Sonia Gandhi.

All the ministers in Sheila Dikshit government on Monday met Union Telecom Minister Kapil Sibal in this regard. DPCC chief’s style of running the party has annoyed the several party MPs including Sibal.

The union minister will apprise the party president of current political scenario of Delhi Congress. Sibal will also fix the disgruntled leaders’ appointment with Sonia Gandhi.

The anti-Agarwal camp said that the DPCC chief has already criticized the policies of Delhi government on several occasions. It may affect the poll prospect of the party in the next assembly polls, said the Congress leaders.

If JP Agarwal is removed from the post of DPCC chief, the Congress high command will have to accommodate a Vaishya candidate in the Delhi Congress.

Meanwhile, Mangat Ram Singhal, Narendra Nath, Nasheeb Singh, Yoganand Shashtri and Rajkumar Chauhan have emerged as the main contenders for the post of DPCC chief.
