New Delhi: The 17-year-old Delhi student, who was allegedly raped by two youths on New Year eve, has made some shocking revelations. In her statement to the police, the victim alleged that she was exploited by the accused for months because of which she attempted suicide twice.

During the investigation, the Police came to know that the victim became friend with Navin Kumar on social networking site Facebook in September 2011 since then her ordeals began.

Few months later Navin, working with an IT company, introduced her to his cousin, Rajesh, who too became her Facebook friend in December. Both of them exchanged their phone numbers and soon started talking on cell phones. This drew the girl closer to Rajesh and both of them started meeting frequently.

Their relation took an ugly turn when Rajesh took the girl in one of his friends’ flat where he allegedly spiked her soft drink and raped her. Rajesh stopped talking to the victim after the incident. The girl got traumatized and went into depression after that.

The girl narrated her ordeal to Navin who consoled her and provided a much-needed support. They gradually came close and he would often take her out to Lodhi Garden, Lajpat Nagar and Connaught Place on his bike. But Navin too has ill motives, she claimed alleging that Navin outraged her modesty by offering cold drinks laced with sedatives in a flat in Safdarjung Enclave.

After this incident, both the accused turned abusive which led to the girl in deep depression. The victim allegedly ended her life by consuming Lizol.

Even after this, the accused continue to harass her over phone and social networking site Facebook. The victim’s family on December 31st approached the police who arrested the accused after registering an FIR.

The duo has been booked for outraging the modesty of the girl. The charges have also been slapped against them under Protection of Children from Sexual Offences Act (POSCO) 2012. Both the accused were produced in Saket court and sent to Tihar jail on judicial custody.
