Haridwar: Tightening the noose around Baba Ramdev, the two-member team of Delhi police inquired into the Patanjali Yog Peeth in connection with Yoga Guru’s fast on June 4 at Ramlila ground.

The Delhi police had accused Baba Ramdev of flouting the Section 144 of Indian Penal Code (IPC). He has filed petition with the Supreme Court in this regard.

It is worth mentioning that police has launched forceful eviction against Baba Ramdev and his supporters on June 4.

There were apprehensions about law and order situation in Delhi as Baba Ramdev had collected 50,000 people his protest although he had sought permission for a yoga camp for a gathering of 5,000 only.

The Police had justified its action to end Ramdev’s agitation saying the Yoga Guru had violated the undertaking for permission and had even backed out on his assurances.
On the other hand, Ramdev has accused the police of taking brutal action against him and his supporters. Following which, the SC had asked the Delhi police to respond on this.
