New Delhi: Delhi Police will get 370 more Police Control Room (PCR) vehicles next week.

"With the addition of 370 PCRs, the number of patrolling vans will go up to 1,000," a Delhi Police officer said.

Delhi Police have 630 PCR vans, of which 150 are non-functional. After December 16 gang-rape incident, the government sanctioned funds to purchase new PCR vans to increase vigil on the capital's roads.

"All the vehicles are equipped with Global Positioning Remote Sensing (GPRS) system," the officer added. The vans will be flagged off Monday from India Gate.
