Bedi who has contested from the Krishna Nagar constituency is trailing against her nearest rival AAP candidate SK Bagga.

After the completion of second round of counting, Bedi was trailing by a margin of 1065 votes to Bagga in the prestigious seat which has been a BJP bastion since 1993 with senior party leader Harsh Vardhan winning the seat five consecutive times.

In the December 2013 polls, Vardhan had won the constituency by a margin of 43,150 votes.

Kiran Bedi said she will take full responsibility for the defeat. She said in it was a match with AAP leader Arvind Kejriwal and only one person emerges victorious in a match. "We both are competing, we both are playing a match. When we play we just play, only one person wins," she told reporters at her residence.

Bedi dismissed the view that the Delhi poll results are a referendum on Narendra Modi government. "If the party wins it will be a collective victory, if it loses it is individual, I will take full responsibility. Even during my policing days if their was a failure, responsibility was mine," she said.
