New Delhi: Following the directions of Directorate of Education (DoE), several private schools in Delhi on Friday released their first list of selected children for nursery admissions. The admission process based on the first list will begin from Monday.
The second list for nursery admissions will be out on February 28.
The first list shows that the schools had given preference to those children whose relatives were already studying in the respective schools. Interestingly, children with weaker financial background have also found place in the first list.
Though, the Delhi High Court decision on nursery admissions is still awaited, it is worth mentioning that the parents of lucky ones are still in mess on whether to celebrate the announcement by the schools or not.
The High Court will pronounce its verdict on the existing admission criteria for nursery admissions by next week.
Meanwhile, the parents of those children whose names did not appear in the first list accused the school administration of wrongdoing. However, the school authorities denied such allegations and asserted that they followed complete transparency in selection of candidates.
“We have followed transparency throughout the selection process,” said Rajkumar Khurana, Manager of Dwarka based Shanti Gyan School.
