New Delhi: Communist Party of India (CPI) Delhi State Council has taken exception of the pressure tactics adopted by the Delhi Police while the SDM concerned was taking the statement of gang rape victim in the Safdurjung Hospital.

The party was critical of the fact that these police officers, two ACPs and DCPs of South District, insisted the lady SDM that victim’s statement should be taken as per doted lines of the South District police.

This all has been reveled in a confidential letter by the lady magistrate concerned to the Home Secretary RK Singh as well as to the Lieutenant Governor of Delhi Tejendra Khanna. The letter was handed over to Union Home Minister Shushilkumar Shinde by Delhi Chief Minister Sheila Dikshit herself on Wednesday night.

The CPI Delhi State council demanded from the LG to immediately suspend the three police officers present there while SDM was registering the statement of the victim.

CPI Delhi State condemns this police high-handedness and demands for thorough enquiry into the incident.
