New Delhi: Cracking a whip on late coming of teachers and principals, the Delhi government has decided to install biometric system in the schools that will have an online record of logging in of teachers.

After Delhi University and Municipal Corporation of Delhi, now teachers and principals of the state government schools will have to mark their attendance through the biometric system.

The move will end the late coming attitude of teachers and principals in schools. The biometric system, to be installed in 937 schools, will be attached to the Directorate of Education via online service.

Till now, attendance for teachers and principals was a manual process where they enter their names and timing in a register, which is rigged off many times.

“The biometric system will end the negligence of teachers and create a positive atmosphere for studies,” said education minister Arvinder Lovely.
