New Delhi: The admission process to the Delhi Technological University began on Wednesday with 85 percent seats reserved for Delhi students.
Out of 1531 seats available in the DTU, 1301 seats have been reserved for the Delhi students.

One seat in each course is reserved for single girl child in Delhi University. The applicants are required to get at least 60 percent marks in the Class-XII exam.

DTU Spokesperson Ruchika Malhotra said, 85 percent seats of the Delhi University are already reserved for Delhi aspirants.  Only 15 percent seats are reserved for students of other states. In addition, students can also get admissions under SC, ST, OBC and Physically Handicapped and displaced Kashmiri category.

The applicants need to have atleast 60 percent marks in Class XII. DTU Dean PB Sharma said, the students are admitted on the basis of merit in Class XII and counseling.

Online counseling facility has been launched for the students for admission into 15 B.Tech courses. The students who have secured a rank in the AIEEE entrance exam 2012 can apply online for admission.

As per the reservation for the students of Delhi, if a Delhi domicile holder acquires 30,000 rank and a student of another state has attained 5,000 rank, the Delhi student will be given preferred for the admission.

The aspirants are required to download the bank chalan from the DTU website for payment of the fee. The applicants will be able to deposit their fee through the bank chalan from June 13 to June 18 while the registration fee for the admission is Rs 1000.

After the submission of the fee, the applicants can register online from June 20 to June 25 by creating their unique login id.

Also, 48 seats have been reserved for NRI, Foreign National and Person of Indian Origin (PIO) applicants in DTU.
