New Delhi: Mulling to ease out monsoon woes faced by Delhiites in the wake of waterlogging at several parts of national capital, Delhi Chief Secretary Praveen Kumar Tripathi led emphasis on the need of a new drainage system for Delhi, which is likely to see the light of the day next year.

Speaking on the issue on Thursday, he said that large-scale development work during the organization of Commonwealth Games has brought major changes in the landscape of Delhi leading to the requirement of new drainage system.

Delhi has now got more dense carpeting and RCC roads leading to interruption in natural water drainage. The new drainage system would be made keeping in view the new structure of Delhi, the Chief Secretary added.
