New Delhi: Following the Supreme Court’s directions, the Delhi University has decentralized its Post Graduate (PG) entrance examinations.

Now, under the RTI Act, the University will have to post answer sheets on the internet for students. It should be noted that PG level examination is conducted through CAT for five PG courses in commerce, finance and management.

Prof  RC Sharma, Dean of DU examination, said, “The PG level entrance examination has been made more transparent and effective. In a bid to avoid delay in conducting the PG exams, all formalities have been finished”.

Under this new system, the concerned department will be responsible for conducting PG exams, which will further reduce the pressure on the examination branch.

As per the court directives, the university has to show the answer booklets to students by putting them online.

“About 40 lakh answer booklets are checked annually in Delhi University.  Since keeping the entire data is a big responsibility, the entrance exam of PG courses has been decentralized at the departmental level.”
