The app – ‘DU UG admissions’ - was developed by a Delhi University professor along with some students.

"Information ranging from admission procedures, schedule, college directory, courses, university information centre and a whole variety of things will be easily available with this app," Gurpreet Singh Tuteja, Delhi University Deputy Dean Students Welfare and developer of the app, said.

The app can work without internet connectivity and has a special section for the students to pen down their notes.

"Students can also send mails and SMS directly from the app. But for the SMS, they would be charged," Tuteja said.

The app is also linked to the websites of Delhi University along with 64 colleges.

"It hardly took me a week to develop this but I have been working on making the template for three months now," he said.

With linkage to Google maps, locating colleges will just be a click away with this application. One can also get updated news on it along with the option to search for anything from Google.

The app has a Delhi University logo and can be downloaded from the university website.

"This is clearly an endeavour of the university to make it student-friendly and make life easy for them," Malay Neerav, Delhi University joint dean student's welfare and media co-ordinator, said.
