New Delhi: Hours after the blast that occurred meters away from the Prime Minister’s residence in the high security zone of the national capital, the Delhi police have issued high alert and have beefed up the security arrangements.

The alleged terror attack occurred around 3:15 pm on Monday in which an Israeli embassy car was exploded leaving a women diplomat and two others injured.

Meanwhile, security arrangements near the Israeli embassy along with other foreign countries’ embassies have been tightened.

“Security has been tightened. Movement of vehicles is being monitored. Sensitive locations including railway stations, bus terminals, airport and important destinations including markets are put on high alert and suspicious movements are being vigilantly monitored,” said police sources.

The sources further said that the NCR regions including the Anand Vihar border, Badarpur border, Kapashera border and Gazipur border are sealed and police is carrying thorough security checks of the incoming and outgoing vehicles.

Heavy fleets of armed Quick Response Teams (QRTs), dog squads and security personnel have been pressed into action as a preparatory measure.

Uttarakhand also put on high alert

Meanwhile, smelling the terror links behind the Israeli embassy car explosion, Uttarakhand too has been put on high alert.

Issuing stringent directives for tightening security in the Himalayan state which is thronged by high number of tourists, Jyoti Swaroop Pandey, Director General of Police, have asked the police personnel to remain vigilant on any suspicious activities.

As per the sources, the DGP has written to the IGs of Garhwal and Kumaun zones asking to ascertain high security arrangements across the state including high tourist destination like Nainital, Haridwar and Dehradun.
