New Delhi: It was a warm, windy morning in the capital on Thursday with the minimum temperature settling four notches above average at 31.8 degrees Celsius. The met department forecast light rain in parts of the city later in the day.

"The skies will be partly cloudy with a possibility of thunderstorm or light rain in some areas towards the evening," said an official from the India Meteorological Department (IMD).

"Maximum and minimum temperatures are likely to hover around 43 and 32 degrees Celsius, respectively," added the official.

The maximum temperature recorded Wednesday was 43.2 degrees Celsius, four notches above average for the season. Humidity recorded at 8.30 a.m. Thursday was 29 percent.
