New Delhi: Delhiites experienced the hottest morning of the season on Friday with minimum temperature rising to 34.3 degree Celsius.

However, there could be some respite with the Met department forecasting possible  thundershowers towards the evening.

"The skies will remain partly cloudy through the day but there could be duststorms accompanied by rain towards the evening and night in some parts of the city," an official of the India Meteorological Department (IMD) said.
   
The maximum temperature is expected to hover around 43 degrees Celsius," the official added. Thursday's maximum temperature settled at 45.4 degrees Celsius, five notches above the average - - the highest in this season - while the minimum was 31.2 degrees Celsius, four notches above the average.

Humidity recorded at 8.30 a.m. on Friday was 31 percent.

The city has been witnessing a heat wave in the past few days. Earlier on May 10 and 11, the city had recorded a maximum of 42.6 degree Celsius while on May 25, the maximum was at 44 degrees, the previous highs of this season.
