Vrindavan: Pilgrims from Delhi will now be able to reach Brindavan by helicopter from November 11, an official said on Thursday."All necessary arrangements have been made. The service will start from November 11," Mathura district magistrate Samir Verma told reporters.
The state-owned Pawan Hans Helicopters Ltd. has already conducted trials. Minor issues were sorted out on Wednesday, he said. "Those who can afford and are under pressure for time will find the service very useful. I see a great potential as the number of visitors to the holy town is increasing every year," Verma added.
The UP Jal Nigam has developed a helipad at a cost of Rs.15 lakh near Panigram. The helicopter service will later be extended to Agra.
