Margao: Riding high on three consecutive victories, Dempo look favorite to win against rookie Pailan Arrows when the two sides meet in the fourth round of the I-League at Tilak ground, Vasco on Sunday. (Agencies)
Dempo's coach Armando Colaco sounded a bit disappointed after their Friday's match was shifted to Tilak ground because of the ongoing National School games at Nehru Stadium, Margao.
"Our team is used to playing more at Nehru Stadium than Tilak ground which does not suit to our liking but we have no option but to play and win tomorrow," Colaco said.
"The boys are high on spirit after our last two impressive wins over Mumbai FC and Mohun Bagan.
"Joaquim Abranches played with good understanding with Ranty Martins which saw the demolishing of Bagan and I am pleased the way my strikers performed in the last match," the coach added.
"Tomorrow, we are playing against young Indian side that is looking for their first win. We have to be on guard and not remain complacent," Colaco said.
Pailan Arrows, the AIFF development team, have started well in their previous matches but failed to maintain pressure against the rival teams which saw them lose two matches against Mohun Bagan and Salgaocar while playing a draw against HAL.
The inexperience in their ranks has been exposed and technical director Sukhwinder Singh will be hoping his side settles quickly.
"Tomorrow is a new game and against a strongest side that are at their best, but we have our task cut out and are ready for the challenge. I know it will be difficult to beat them but will be happy if we a point," stated Sukhwinder Singh.
