The Chief Minister also issued directions for better treatment of the injured, an official statement said here. The injured would be given Rs 50,000, the statement added.

Home Secretary NN Pandey, Additional Director General of Police SN Pradhan and other officials have been supervising the rescue operations and treatment of more than 30 people, the statement said.
The incident occurred around 4 AM, while the devotees tried to overtake each other, according to Deoghar district Deputy Commissioner Amit Kumar. Deoghar is around 350 km from Ranchi.
