Derek accused the channel of highlighting one or stray incidents of violence during polling in West Bengal.

“A particular Bangla channel has been bashing Trinamool for months. It's worried exit poll results will make it look silly, expose bias (1/2),”Derek tweeted on Monday.

“So what does this channel do to hide its embarrassment? It ignores Bengal's 31,000 peaceful booths and hypes one or two stray incidents (2/2),” he added.

The final phase of Lok Sabha elections in West Bengal turned ugly on Monday when 13 people were injured during a clash between the ruling Trinamool Congress (TMC) and CPI (M) workers in Haroa in North 24 Parganas district.

Meanwhile, taking a veiled dig at Bharatiya Janata Party’s prime ministerial candidate Narendra Modi, Derek revealed that he voted today but did not take a selfie.

“Yes,I just voted...No,I did not then come outside the booth and take a selfie :),” Derek tweeted.

Modi had clicked a selfie with the BJP’s symbol ‘lotus’ after casting his vote on May 30 and later tweeted the picture on his official Twitter account.

There has been a bad blood between TMC and BJP throughout these elections with Derek also going to the extent of calling Modi a ‘Butcher of Gujarat’ earlier.

TMC supremo and West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee has also used offensive harangues while demeaning her Gujarat counterpart.
