London: The 'Desperate Housewives' star Eva Longoria flew a light aircraft as part of a rally to support kids suffering from cancer.

The Hollywood actress, who is often seen showing her support at various red carpet fund raisers, ditched the heels and designer dress as she soared over Miami in a small plane for the Rally for Kids with Cancer Scavenger Cup on Saturday.

The 36-year-old star gave hearty thumbs up and flashed a big smile as she donned her headset and took her seat behind the controls.

Not stopping at this, Longoria also took part in a car race later as part of the event, driving a Mercedes SLR McLaren round a track.

In the soaring Florida heat and being behind two hot engines, the actress kept her cool in small white shorts and a charity T-shirt.

"The Rally for Kids with Cancer Foundation is dedicated to improving the quality of life for children throughout Miami. By pledging me for this event you are supporting children's cancer research from diagnosis and treatment, for conducting research and finding promising new therapies" she said at the event.
