New Delhi: Despite assurances to ease out power crisis which has plagued people for a fortnight, the national capital is still under the grip of frequent power cuts for long.

According to the data released by Delhi Transco, 450 mw power each was generated in Badarpur Thermal Power Station and Hydro Station on Wednesday.

However, less power was supplied from rest of the states. Apart from this, people had to reel under power cuts for hours in the name of load shedding.

Like other days, the most affected areas were south and west Delhi.

Claims are being made that the difference between demand and supply has been minimized and even Delhi Transco stated that power situation was improving.

However, according to power distribution companies, at least 500- mw power was required on Wednesday.

As per BSES officials, the situation will improve slowly and the requirement will be fulfilled by overdrawing from the northern grid.

Efforts are made not to create difficulties for the consumers but due to low frequency in the grid, load shedding is being done, officials said.
