Prayers and offerings are being made by them on the last Monday of the holy month of Sawan. Thousands of devotees were seen queuing up in Shiva temples across the country to offer prayers to Lord Shiva and Goddess Gauri.

In Ujjain, devotees gathered at the Mahakaleshwar Temple and offered prayers to Lord Shiva.

In Varanasi number of devotees queued outside the revered ‘Vishwanath temple’ and also gathered on the banks of the River Ganga to offer their prayers.

The whole Sawan month is considered as highly auspicious, since every day of the month holds a special significance. It is believed that results are auspicious for all devotees who worship Lord Shiva during the holy month of Sawan.
