Jammu: The ongoing Amarnath Yatra is all set to create a new record of number of devotees who visited the holy shrine in one single year. Around 4.8 lakh pilgrims have already paid obeisance to lord Shiva in the first 19 days of the yatra. It is expected that within two days the number could reach 5Lakh.

There are still 25 days left for the yatra to finish on August 13, 2011 which started on June 29. On Tuesday, 1832 pilgrims started off their holy yatra from Jammu for Pahalgam and Baltal.

Moreover, enjoying the pleasant weather, around 15,438 yatris began their next leg of yatra to the holy shrine from Pahalgam and Baltal.

The number of devotees reaching Jammu camp for the yatra might have declined, but number of lord Shiva devotees directly reaching Pahalgam and Baltal continues to increase.

On an average, at least 20,000 devotees per day are paying obeisance to the holy cave.
