Shamshad alias Khutkan, Usman alias Kale, Shahid alias Chhota Billi, Iqbal alias Bada Billi and Kamruddin were being tried for the abduction and gang-rape of a 30-year-old call centre executive in Dhaula Kuan area of south Delhi, when she was walking home with her colleague at night after her shift ended.

The quantum of the punishment will be decided on October 17.

The accused abducted her to Mangolpuri, gangraped her, and then later left her on an isolated road there.

The five were then arrested from Mewat in Haryana.

However, the the abductors have claimed innocence, saying they were falsely dragged in the case.

The guilty are being tried on charges of gang-rape, criminal intimidation and abduction.

Based on this case, call centers were asked to urgently adopt a slew of effective safety measures for women employees working in the late night shifts.

Facilitates like cabs were ordered to drop women to their front door; while providing the security.
