Shimla: Chief Minister PK Dhumal on Thursday accused the Centre of discriminating against Himachal Pradesh in allocating funds for development and said the Congress was spreading "false propaganda" ahead of by-elections.

Addressing public meetings in Renuka and Nalagarh assembly constituencies, Dhumal alleged that the Centre was discriminating against Himachal Pradesh in allocation of funds.

The election for both the seats would be held on November 30 and counting of votes would take place of December 4.

He attacked Union Cabinet Ministers from Himachal Pradesh, VB Singh and Anand Sharma, and accused them of "not protecting" the interests of the state.

Dismissing allegations of misusing Section 118 of Tenancy and Land Reforms Act to liberally allow outsiders to purchase land in the state Dhumal said, "Seeing defeat, Congress has become jittery and is indulging in false propaganda."

He said that the government had already appointed a judicial commission to probe the allegations of misuse of Sec 118.
