Shimla: In yet another gift to employees ahead of Assembly polls, Chief Minister Prem Kumar Dhumal on Friday announced 'Grade Pay' to about 2.5 lakh employees on Punjab pattern, incurring annual expenditure of about Rs 500 crore.

The announcement about acceptance of the major demand of the employees was made at a rally, organised by BJP to highlight various welfare programmes and speedy development of the state during the Dhumal's tenure.

The chief minister said that the state government had carried out uniform and balanced development and implemented most of the promises made in the election manifesto.

He claimed that a number of schemes, which had no mention in the manifesto, had also been implemented for the benefit and welfare of people of the state.

Meanwhile, party's senior leaders including National Vice President Shanta Kumar, general secretary J P Nadda were also present in the rally.
