Shimla: In its bid to spread awareness about its programmes and highlighting its achievements before the common man, Premkumar Dhumal government in Himachal Pradesh has decided to use the various streams of media in that regard.

In the Cabinet meeting chaired by the Chief Minister on Thursday, the government besides giving nod to several reforms and development policies also decided that the concerned ministers and secretaries will interact with media on a regular basis to provide the details of the government policies and programmes.

Press conferences will be held every month, which will inform the media about the development work in various fields.

Deciding on other issues, the Cabinet gave nod to reduce the proposed capacity of the Shalvi Hydro Power Project’s from 7 mw to 4.75 mw. It was also decided that the work of the hydro power project would be done by HIMURJA.

Settling state government’s demand of additional helicopters, the Cabinet also gave consent to constitute a committee comprising aviation experts and officials which will propose future recommendations following appropriate discussions.

The Cabinet also passed the proposal of filling the two posts of drug inspectors on contract basis and agreed on the development of parking in several districts including Apmohal, Krishna Nagar, Cart Road and Shimla.

The Cabinet also approved the amendments to the Himachal Pradesh Housing Allocation (normal pool) Regulations, 1994.
