Indore: Congress general secretary Digvijay Singh on Sunday objected Union Minister Sharad Pawar's remark on Congress star campaigner Rahul Gandhi.

“Pawar is an experienced leader and he should not have given such a statement," Singh said.

Singh’s statement came in the wake of Pawar’s statement that he saw no possibility of Rahul Gandhi being immediately projected as the PM candidate, even if the Congress does well in the key state.

Singh said, “Pawar is an experienced leader and he must be speaking after a lot of thought-process. But I have objections to his statement.”

He was quick to add, “When the assembly poll results will be out on March 6, Pawar would be surprised.”

Pawar had also said that if Congress does not do well in Assembly elections in Uttar Pradesh, the blame may go to Rahul Gandhi.

The elections in UP will be held in seven different phases starting on February 8, 2012 and ending on Mar 3rd 2012. Results will be declared on 6th March 2012.
