Out of 80 Lok Sabha MPs from Uttar Pradesh, Dimple and Rahul made poor presence in the House with 22 percent and 43 percent attendance respectively.

PRS Legislative Research, an independent research initiative and leading Indian think-tank aimed at strengthening legislative process, has prepared the attendance report of these Parliamentarians.

As far as other members of the Nehru-Gandhi family are concerned, Rae Bareli MP and Congress president Sonia Gandhi recorded 47 percent attendance in the House. While BJP leader Maneka Gandhi, MP from Aonla, has an impressive 77 percent attendance, her son and BJP MP from Pilibhit Varun Gandhi has 63 percent to his credit.

SP chief Mulayam Singh has registered an impressive 85 percent attendance, while his nephew and Badaun MP Dharmendra Yadav’s presence in the House was 72 percent. Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav during his stint as Kannauj MP in 15th Lok Sabha registered 53 percent attendance in the House.

Dharmendra Yadav tops the list of UP MPs asking questions in the Parliament with 973 queries. Another SP MP Shailendra Yadav gave best ever performance by participating in debates for record 353 times.
