1. Dipa started practicing gymnastics at the age of six. She started training under veteran Bisbeshwar Nandi, who was a little worried about her flat foot which acts as a hurdle while jumping. He admitted working very hard to get the curve in her feet.
 
2. Dipa won the National Juniors in 2007, after which there was no looking back for her. Till date, she has 77 medals including 67 gold in state, national and international championships to her credit.

3. As a senior, she participated in 2011 National Games in Jharkhand and won five gold medals in floor, vault, all around, balance beam, and uneven bars.

4. Her score on Produnova*** is the highest in the world. She scored 15.100 out of which 7.000 was for difficulty, and an 8.100 for execution. Only two of her contemporaries have attempted the Produnova, Yamilet Pena of Dominican Republic and Fadwa Mahmoud of Egypt. However, none of them has managed to garner a high score of 15.100.



5. Abhinav Bindra and Rahul Dravid led non-profit organisation GoSports Foundation has played a key role in her funding, training, and competition apparel.
