New Delhi: The ongoing tug of war between the ministers of the United Progressive Alliance has irked the Congress president Sonia Gandhi who feels that internal feud has affected the functioning of the UPA government.

Taking serious note of the matter, Sonia Gandhi held meeting with Prime Minister Manmohan Singh, and other senior ministers including Pranab Mukherjee, AK Antony and P Chidambaram separately to maintain coordination and synergy within the party.

Prior to going abroad again for the treatment of an undisclosed ailment, the Congress Chief is putting all efforts to bring cold war among the party members to halt. In this regard, she has also included Congress General Secretary Rahul Gandhi who rather avoids interference in the matters related to the government. It is expected that Rahul is likely to be appointed as the working president of the party.

If the sources are to be believed, according to Sonia Gandhi the root cause of the tussle among the leaders is due to lack coordination which has not only affected the government but the relations with the allies as well.
Especially, wrangling between Finance Minister Pranab Mukherjee and Home Minister P Chidambaram in 2G spectrum scam has brought to the fore the internal feud of the party.

Sonia Gandhi is likely to take some corrective measures to put an end to the internal feud among ministers, informed the sources.
