"What is in the mind of the party cannot be disclosed to you openly…" Karunanidhi told reporters, responding to a query on reports that there is a possibility of DMK allying with BJP.
"DMK has not begun its exercise to debate on with whom it should align", he said, to a query on whether the alliance with Congress would continue.
DMK snapped its ties with Congress early this year over the Sri Lankan Tamils issue. However, it managed to drum up that party's support for Karunanidhi's daughter Kanimozhi during the Rajya Sabha elections which she successfully contested.
Karunanidhi also reiterated his party's opposition to the Joint Parliamentary Committee (JPC) report on 2G spectrum scam. The party had already submitted dissent note on the JPC report and its members staged a walkout on Tuesday.
On anti-corruption crusader Anna Hazare launching his indefinite fast for passage of the Jan Lokpal Bill in Parliament, Karunanidhi said, "I have trust in Anna Hazare movement. At the same time, I am also apprehensive".
On the party's executive committee meeting agenda, he said it would be based upon the "prevailing situation".
