External Affairs Ministry Spokesperson Vikas Swarup also said External Affairs Minister Sushma Swaraj will travel to Indore on November 23 to meet Geeta and enquire about her well-being.

"It is true that we had done DNA test of Geeta. The Mahato family had come forward and seeing their pictures, Geeta had felt perhaps they are her parents. Their DNA test was also conducted. Her DNA test was negative," Swarup said, adding that the report prepared by AIIMS has been sent to Mahato family.

Geeta had failed to recognise the Mahato family after arriving here though after seeing their photographs had earlier identified them. Swarup said some other families have also come forward saying perhaps Geeta was their child and government has been sending their pictures to her who is staying in a rehabilitation centre for deaf and dumb people in Indore.

Mahato claimed Geeta was his first child and her name was Heera who was lost in a fair in 2004.
