Noida: Burning a hole in the pockets of the commuters, the Noida Development Authority along with the Delhi-Noida Direct (DND) management has decided a 10 percent increase in the toll tax on DND flyover. By November the toll tax will be escalated.

Confirming the spike in toll tax, CEO, Noida Development Authority, Balwinder Kumar said, “From November 1 onwards the DND toll tax will be increased by 10 percent. Toll rates will increase by Re 1, Rs 2, Rs 4, Rs 5 and Rs 6.”

Insisting to increase the DNS toll tax by 25 percent, the DND management had to settle at 10 percent hike. Citing financial crunch to maintain the flyover as the major reason, the management said that the tax has not been raised from last three years despite increase in maintenance charges.

Earlier also it declared to raise the tax which was put to halt following protests by political parties and social organizations. Even development authority was against the tax raise.
